Searching through the index to the 1891 Women's Suffrage Petition, 143 names of women who lived in the area now known as Whitehorse were discovered.
The names of these women are listed in this index. Additional information was found about some of the women listed as signing the petition when, in 2008, research on woman suffrage in Whitehorse was undertaken in conjunction with the centenary of women receiving the right to vote in Victorian State Government elections.
Information in the records will be updated when additional information about the women is located.
WCTU & the 1891 Woman's Petition provides information about the collection of signatures petitioning Parliament for the right for the women in the Colony of Victoria to be able to vote.
